Classroom Connections Nursery-June & July 2016

Nursery-June & July 2016

Dear Parents,

In order to ensure holistic development of the child, it is essential that the school and parents continuously collaborate with each other. Therefore, we invite you to take a peek into the educational world of your child.

Once you are aware of your child’s learning schedule, you can assist and monitor your child’s overall development through positive reinforcement and encouragement.

Every month, we shall offer a new theme that introduces your child to different aspects of one’s environment. Various concepts in language, math, art and craft will be taught each month via a variety of engaging activities. Ipod applications and audio visuals will strengthen the learning of each concept.

A Sneak Peek:

Theme for the month: Fun with Myself

Preschoolers are naturally curious about their bodies. They enjoy learning about the parts of their bodies and how they function. Children entering preschool already possess the basic knowledge of the body parts and are ready to grasp more detailed information. Thus, the theme, ‘Fun with Myself’ helps children to realize that every person is unique and special by providing an opportunity to answer the important question, Who am I? It further emphasizes on the need and ways towards self-hygiene.

Language:

Vocabulary will be enhanced through the introduction of letters ‘Aa’, ‘Bb’, ‘Cc’ and sight words related to one’s body and family. Along with these, various activities like show and tell, picture talk, rhymes and stories will be done on a regular basis.

Numeracy:

Thus, through this theme your child will learn about knowing oneself, one’s family, home, class, school, one’s body, personal hygiene and one’s favourite things.

International Joke Day – Grades 3 to 8

Dear Parents,

Laughter is a universally recognised expression of amusement and  telling a joke  can become a calling for those who truly have the humourous touch. International Joke Day is the perfect day to share all the guffaw producing or groan inducing jokes one knows of.

On 1st July- The International Joke Day, let your ward come forward with a joke and participate in the “ Master of Jokes ” competition at The Universal School.

The rules are simple:come and narrate a joke in less than a minute. Louder the sound of the audience’s laughter, higher are the chances of winning. Keep it clean, simple and short.

If you wish for your ward to participate, communicate the same to the class teacher by Tuesday 28th June 2016, along with a copy of the joke.
