What Your Child will Learn in June 2015
Sr.Kg.
Dear Parents,
We invite you to take a peek into the educational world of your child. For holistic development of the child, it is essential that the school and parents continuously support and work together to strengthen the child’s learning process.
When parents are aware of what the children are learning, they can help in developing their children’s learning by positive reinforcement and encouragement.
Every month we shall offer a new theme that introduces your child to various aspects of one’s environment. The language, math, art and craft curriculum will teach various concepts each month. iPod applications and audio visuals will strengthen the learning of each concept.
Theme for the month: All about me and my country
Through this theme your child will learn about one’s surroundings, which includes the school, its neighbourhood, the city, the country and its neighbours.
To enhance your child’s learning experience, give examples of Indian culture because children learn through examples. Take the child to important landmarks in the city such as the Gateway of India, the C.S.T Station, the Prince of Wales and the BhauDaji Lad museum, the Kanheri caves and the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. Show them the better side of everything in such a way that they build lifelong bonds. As emotional bonds help a lot in developing any habit in kids, read out stories that promote Indian values and culture to help them to love and respect our rich Indian culture.
You could introduce the dress and the cuisine of different states to your child.
Language:
A revision of previous year’s work will be undertaken. Phonic books will reinforce the concepts learnt.
By reading story books and making your home a print rich space, you will improve your child’s ability to master new learning.
Do reinforce the use of the golden words – please, thank you and sorry.
Numeracy:
The child will be introduced to numerals, concepts of colour and size.
