Theme for the month: Exploring the Water World
Preschoolers are often fascinated by the animals that live in oceans and other water bodies. Thus this month we shall explore yet another exciting theme ‘Exploring the Water World’. This beautiful theme will offer your child a way to foster love for the sea and an enthusiasm for learning about it.
Your child will be able to identify common sea creatures, their characteristics and will be able to differentiate between land and aquatic animals. He or she will also be able to relate to these animals in their environment.
Learning about the adaptations will help your child to further understand the uniqueness in nature, thus he or she will soon be able to understand that no two animals are the same.
Effective usage of Role plays, Audio Visual learning, art and craft and technology will be used as the methodology.
Language:
Vocabulary will be enhanced through the introduction of letters ‘Hh’, ‘Ii’, ‘Jj’, ‘Kk’ and picture vocabulary related to the theme. Along with these, various activities like book browsing, picture talks, rhymes and stories will be done on a regular basis.
Numeracy:
There will be a progression in numerals, concepts of colours and shapes.

A hard copy of the Rhymes for the month will be given to your child in class.
At Home You Can:
Read informative books as well as story books about sea creatures as the central characters. By reading books and making your home a print rich space, you will improve your child’s ability to master new learning.
Do make your child share his/her reflections of the stories read. This will develop thinking, reasoning as well as aid in confidence building. Please encourage your child for every effort made. He or she will do better in a motivating and positive environment.
