Sr. Kg – October and November 2016
Theme for the month: Going Green – Types of plants, Pollution, Conservation, Recycling and Eco-friendly way of life.
Early exposure to environmental awareness can shape your child’s lifelong attitude, values and patterns of behaviour and his/her sense of social and environmental responsibility. It will help your child to be a responsible citizen by introducing and modeling strategies for reducing, reusing, and recycling. This can be achieved by giving your child opportunities to participate in ecological activities and providing strategies to him/her to make a difference to the world he/she will inherit. When we introduce recycling to your child, we invite him/her to think about the effects of people’s actions on the earth and other people. By asking children to reuse items, reduce waste, we encourage moderation and self-control among them as well as incorporate character building.
Children have a natural curiosity about the world around them, so through this theme your child will learn, how to take the responsibility of nurturing and making small changes that can reap benefits in the future. These include being sensitive to his/her surroundings, conserving natural resources and adopting an eco-friendly way of life.
It is important to sensitize our young learners with the fact that each one of us can make a difference to make the world a better place.
Effective usage of Audio Visual learning, technology, art and craft and role plays will be the methodology used.
