Nursery – November & December 2016

Theme for the month: Growing Healthy – Fruits

Through this unit your child will get a first-hand experience by touching, feeling and tasting a number of seasonal fruits. He/She will also learn about the various preparations made from fruits. We will also explain the health benefits of fruits to your child and need your co-operation to instill good eating habits in them.

Effective usage of Audio Visual learning, technology, art and craft, hands on experiences and Role plays will be the methodology used.

Language:

Vocabulary will be enhanced through the introduction of letters ‘Pp’, ‘Qq’, ‘Rr’, and sight words related to the theme. Along with these, various activities like show and tell, picture talk, rhymes and stories will be done on a regular basis.

Numeracy:

There will be a progression in numerals, concepts of colours and shapes.

A hard copy of the Rhymes for the month will be given to your child in class.

At Home You Can:

Explore books related to the theme. By reading story books and making your home a print rich space, you will improve your child’s ability to master learning effectively.

Do make your child share his/her reflections of the stories read. This will develop thinking, reasoning as well as aid in confidence building. Please encourage him/her, for every effort made-he/she will do better in a motivating and positive environment. To enhance your child’s learning experience, you could take the child to the market place and grocery stores.Make fruits an enjoyable part of your child’s diet
