Beyond Academics

Community Outreach Programmes

Whether it is collecting funds for NGOs such as NAB, Helpage, Habitat for Humanity etc or reaching out to the underprivileged students of Mukhtangan and Seva Sadan, the students of The Universal School have lent a helping hand to the betterment of the society.

Collecting waste papers for recycling was undertaken as a part of the Behtar India Campaign. Students also carry out a donation drive and participate in the Terry Fox Run every year to raise funds and awareness for Cancer patients.

Out of School Learning

The highest education is that which does not merely give us information but makes our life in harmony with all existence. Learning within the confines of the four walls is thus never enough. We often venture into the world outside to explore and learn lessons from nature and art.

Students of grades 8-10 went on a nature trail with author and naturalist Katie Bagli. Students of grades 4-7 watched the critically acclaimed Marathi movie Pipsi. These are only a few mentions from a rather long list!

A New Vision

At its first inter-school fest, ‘Renaissance’, the school opened its doors to 275 students from 18 schools for 13 competitive events.

Universal Model United Nations

Through the Universal Model United Nations simulation, the students learned about diplomacy, international relations and the working of the United Nations. The MUN not only trained them in honing their research skills but also gave them a platform to air their views and opinions on an open platform.

STEAM Exhibition

STEAM, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics, is the school’s theme for the academic year 2018-19. The students, right from Grade 1 to Grade 10, put up a wide range of exhibits, which covered the various aspects of the theme. Each exhibit was prepared and demonstrated by the students themselves.

School Enterprise Challenge

Students of the commerce stream have taken up the School Enterprise Challenge for which they have created a Business Plan to sell story books created by our students.
