Nursery – March & April 2017

Theme for the month: Community Helpers

A community needs many people to pitch in for it to function well. The community helpers are very often those who have a direct interaction with other members of the community and deliver a great service which is critical for the well-being of the community. So, it’s important for all of us to know the ways in which community helpers make our lives better. Thus the theme, ‘Community Helpers’ will teach your child to respect and appreciate the role they play in our community.

Effective usage of Role plays, Audio Visual learning and technology will be the methodology used. Rhymes, songs, stories, games and creative work will ensure that your child learns concepts in a child friendly way. Related worksheets will enable reinforcement of concepts done through the month making it an enriching experience!

Language:

Vocabulary will be enhanced through the introduction of letters ‘Yy’ and ‘Zz’, and sight words related to the theme. Along with these, various activities like show and tell, nature talk, rhymes and stories will be done on a regular basis.

At Home You Can:

Explore books related to the theme. By reading story books and making your home a print rich space, you will improve your child’s ability to master learning effectively. Do make your child share his/her reflections of the stories read. This will develop thinking, reasoning skills as well as aid in confidence building. Please encourage your children, for every effort made. They will do better in a motivating and positive environment.

To enhance your child’s learning experience; you can give them hands on experience by mailing a letter to his/her grandparents or interacting with the community helpers around him/her.
